Fat Skeleton Suit
Here is a talk I gave last week called "Fat Skeleton Suit." For all of you who remember Slim Goodbody from Saturday morning cartoons - this one is for you.
Oh, Ned. You said a mouthful. In a way your existence comes from another kind of asking. Or another part of asking. I won't go into all the details here, but you know that your dad and I waited a long time and prayed and desired to have children and nothing was happening. In my heart I was convinced that God must be "protecting" us from some terrible trouble by not granting our prayer. But then one day I was at a circle meeting. I can't remember the Scripture story, but it had something to do with asking, and my heart was encouraged, so the next time I went to visit my gyn, I asked him if there were some experts we could consult and he sent us to the Wistar Institute at Penn. Shazam. We were model patients. You came along right quickly. I don't know why God wanted us to ask in just that way, but that's how He worked. And we're so glad.

I love you Mom and Dad.
