UPDATE Week of April 22

HAPPY EASTER MONDAY Y'ALL!

David Owen and Ned Erickson flank the one and only Bryan Dooley, our Leader Lunch speaker this week

We've got lots to celebrate!

Our board chair and his wife have a healthy baby boy! Henry Benoit was born on Monday evening to the delight of his adoring parents. Congratulations Josh and Katy.

Henry Dalen Benoit

Our board secretary is days away from their second child!

I'll tell you  - the Fellows family is a multiplying!

The Week

Monday: we had Round Table at Bill and Myrtie Davis' home

They had the china and silver out for us!

Myrtie led us in a great time of reflection and sharing. Then, after dinner we had our weekly business meeting then worshipped and read through the Passion. A great night was had by all.

The only down side of eating at the Davis is the after dinner food coma.

Tuesday: A series of meetings, one of which was with the Career Service team at Winston-Salem State University.

Val Grant keeps my friend Anthony Graham in check. Not an easy job!
Wednesday: Leader Lunch with Bryan Dooley!

Bryan and his partner in crime David

This year, Leadership Winston-Salem has started a new mentoring program. I was honored to be a part of it. I didn't know how honored until I found out whom I was being partnered with.

I should put "mentoring" in quotes because I'm not sure who is mentoring whom. Bryan has become a great friend. I am inspired by his faith and determination to speak for a population that too often is overlooked.

As Bryan reminded us on Wednesday, there are attributes of God that we will not get to know unless we allow our friends with disabilities help teach those things to us.

Hear! Hear!

Thanks Bryan.

What a beautiful group
Thursday: Another series of meetings, one in particular with John Hawkins, Todd McShay and Tim Safley - three of the staff of Leadership Edge.

This has become a key component of what's going on in the Triangle. I'm excited to help these guys explore ways to help us impact the Triad. Stay Tuned!

Friday:

Appreciation day with Nigel Alston

Class One was with Gardner Barrier who gave us a crash course in Personal Finance and Budgeting. There was a little bit of deer in the headlights going on. But what a gift to learn these things in your early twenties!!!

Class Two was with Nigel Alston, where we learned the proper way of sharing and receiving words of appreciation and wrote a letter to someone we admired.

Bryan getting appreciated

Chanice gets appreciated

Abby is so appreciated

Andrew, you can think of him as Mr. Appreciation

Christian giving the sign to steal third
Garrett grew like three inches while getting appreciated

Tim takes appreciation like a man

Laura takes appreciation in third position
Mathu may just be the king of appreciation
I like Trent's personality and his sense of style

RECRUITMENT NEWS!

Welcome Greg!
We are excited to welcome one of Winston-Salem's own, Greg McClinton, to join us next year as one of our Winston-Salem Fellows.

Greg is a graduate of Old Dominion University. As you can see in the picture he also attended Wake Forest. Greg is a thoughtful, purpose-driven man, who I am confident is going to not only add some height to our Fellows but also a lot of maturity.

Welcome Greg!

Also, Congrats to Audra Beth!

student of the week at Clemson!

Keep up the recruiting guys!

We only have a few spaces remaining. So let's get the right people on the bus.

Please share the story and spread the love!!!

CURRENT FELLOWS NEWS

This week, Tim received news that he will be attending Wake Forest in the fall in their Masters of Management Program. Congrats!

GIVE

Thank you for supporting the Fellows in so many ways.

One way that would really help is if you supported us financially. We have a budget of $150,000 and while most of it is covered by tuition and the generous support of churches, we need people like you to help us make up the difference.

Would you please, consider contributing to the mission.

Send checks to
