UPDATE Week of September 21

men and fire

It's Fall Y'all

I'm living with a whole lotta gratitude in my heart for how this Fellows Program has blessed this city (and me personally). It was another great week. There were ups and downs. Happy moments. Sad moments.

You know what it was? Real life. Real, gritty, honest to goodness life together with people committed to chasing after the same things you are committed to chase after.

Thankful for this partner in crime.

It has been super fun working with Heather "Hef" Turner

Hef directs

Here is Hef getting our crew together for the "Group Picture" no easy task!

Round Table

We were hosted by our very own Fellows alumni: Haley, Reiley and Brianne.
The food was great. The darts were great. The watermelon was plentiful.
Worship was rich. Hef gave a great talk. And great times were had by all.

The girls sat on Haley's picnic bench that she built during quarantine

Leader Lunch with Nigel

There are few people who command my attention on Zoom for over an hour. Nigel Alston is one of them. Once again, the man delivered.

To say I am thankful for this man and for the mentor he has been in my life just doesn't get to it.

We will get to see more of Nigel as this year goes on

After Leader Lunch we

FARM LIFE

As part of living at Crossnore and since we are limited in the ability that we have to interact with the children here (because of Covid), we are going to volunteer with Eric Mathis on the Miracle Grounds Farm

FRIDAY CLASSES

Joe Moore kicked off our Fall Classes

This Fall we have some great classes coming the Fellows way.

Spiritual Formation with Joe Moore
Beloved Community with Dr. Anthony Jones
Big Story of Scripture with David Speakman among others

SATURDAY BONFIRE
one of the highlights of the year so far

We built a bonfire and had the current Fellows and some Fellows alumni over for S'Mores and Worship and Some Serious Good Times

some of my favorite dudes in the world

Caroline F joined us late because her host parents invited her up to the Blue Ridge Music Center! How cool is that?

Once upon a time this guy didn't love this.
Hefs kid stole the show like they often do

What a wonderful way to cap off an awesome week.

the flash was SO bright

GIVE

worth the investment

These Fellows are making a difference here and across the country

Natalie at her wedding a few weeks back. She is in OT school and will be graduating in a year. So proud of her progress!

An investment in the Fellows is an investment in a life. Not just any life - but a life that will be investing in other lives for the next six or so decades!

think about that as a legacy!
