Last year, Haley Westervelt was a Fellow. Her job with Athletes In Action at Wake Forest provided her the opportunity to work with volleyball players like Carolina Rassenfoss.
Now, Caroline is a Fellow. What a legacy! Thanks Haley!
A "Quiet" Week
After a wild couple weeks, we decided to mellow things out for the Fellows and practice a few more of the unforced rhythms of life.
ROUND TABLE
We had an awesome time over at the Welsh's home on Monday. They were gracious to have us over. It was so nice to be back in a home.
We continued our study of Philippians 2 with a talk on humility. Not to brag or anything, but it was the best talk ever if I do say so myself. Ha!
The Welsh's are Meghan Beck's Family Friend. It was so cool to see her name on their white board!
LEADER LUNCH
We had another opportunity to step inside a home with Tina Parker this week. Another great gift. She is the hostess with the mostess.
Even the chalkboard bunny said hello.
Tina has such a great story. As Hef described her, she sees everything through a Jesus lens.
CELEBRATING MENTORS
Julie Zenger meeting with Michelle Howard.
Each of our Fellows are connected to a seasoned veteran who mentors them. I have known Julie for years and knew she fit the bill!
Also - congrats on winning the election!
CLASS ON FRIDAY
Meribeth Robinson continued teaching us on Trauma Informed Care and the Sanctuary Model.
We went around and had a community meeting. It takes some getting used to!
Afterward, Dr. Anthony Jones joined us to teach about the Beloved Community
He gave us some serious homework!
TIME TO GET FUNKY
The Fellows worked the Winston Junction Market on Saturday.
We had some happy customers!
Bailey and other Fellows stopped by to show their support
Bailey could be a fry model.
The Funky Duck Team - Hayes, Caroline, and the Masked Fry Slinger
CELEBRATING WORK
Hef is one amazing mentor to the women Fellows.
The male Fellows mentor me.
Clearly, I need a lot of help.
Zoom meeting anyone?
Owen and Hayes went to work matching!
Caroline is working for Habitat and accumulating a lot of skills.
A WOMAN OF MANY TALENTS
Haley, who finished the program last year, has deferred Med School to work at a church. In her spare time, we hired her to build us another picnic table.
Her top secret plans
Testing
A Job well done.
CELEBRATING CHURCH
Emily and her boyfriend Jacob serve coffee to Hope Presbyterian folks
CELEBRATING HOME COOKED FOOD
Yum!
