UPDATE Week of June 21

THE WEEK

It was a fine Fellows week as we paused a moment to celebrate milestones and gathered as a Board to get ourselves aligned and shared some memories and commemorated a new national holiday.

FOND FAREWELL

Tuesday night we celebrated Reiley Burris who is heading off to Washington D. C. to begin her masters program at George Washington in Public Health. I'm excited for our country to have such a women committing to work in such an important space.

She is treasured. She will be missed. But we hope this won't be the end of her Winston-Salem story!

PART 2

Speaking of marking a season.

Inaugural year Fellow Dakota Lee after 10 years is heading out of town to complete a Masters in Counseling Degree at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando.

We are super pumped for this new chapter for Dakota. It is a long time coming.

And we are equally hopeful that this will also not be the end of his Winston story either. I'll put money on it.

LOVE OUT LOUD LUNCH

Love Out Loud had a fundraising lunch on Tuesday this week. The spotlight was on education. It was a pleasure to be in audience.

And there is a JM sighting. The boy commands the room like none other!

BOARD ADVANCE

I failed to get a picture for the highlight of my week!

We gathered for a day of reflection, planning, and prayer to align our mission and get things moving forward as a board. We have a few outgoing members who will be missed (though they will continue to be part of the family!) and three new members who are going to add a lot to the mix (and have done so already!)

I am excited and optimistic about this upcoming year!

FIRST DAYS and HAPPY HOURS

Michelle's first day at work

Welcome home?

The door knob is broken at the girl's house! Nevertheless, they are making it home sweet home.

It was super fun to meet up with the members of last year's class who were in town on Friday. We met up at Fiddlin Fish for Happy Hour and caught up on life.

These are now working men and women! They are also letting their roots sink in! What a thrill!

Again, another photo fail

JUNETEENTH

We helped out with Fleet Feet's Juneteenth Run on Saturday!

These kids are all right

Carmen Palmer and I were reliving the memories

Owen and Michelle went on their first run together and survived!

Alicia and I ran it in!

What a great event!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE and ROSSI

Owen drew up possibly the most detailed birthday day I have ever seen to celebrate Michelle.

The dude never ceases to amaze.

Happy Birthday, Michelle. We will be celebrating you together tonight!

We also virtually celebrated Rossi on her birthday earlier this week.

DREW'S NIGHT

There was a big Summit crowd at the Ramkat Friday night as we danced and sang and laughed and cheered on Drew Holgate and friends.

There is nothing I love more than celebrating people as they do what they love most to do.

FATHERS DAY

We marked Father's Day.

The Erickson family went on a family bike ride and needed sideline assistance as poor Dave's bike kept coming off the chain. Thank you for all the Fathers who stopped their Fathers Day bike rides to help me!

RECRUITMENT

Recruiting still is happening!

We are in conversation with several more potential Fellows. We are interviewing one this week.

I put up this picture to remind us to keep praying! AJ didn't come to us until July last year!
