UPDATE Week of April 1

Aly with her Host Mom and OUR Guest Leader Lunch Speaker Ella Long

A GOOD WEEK TO BE A FELLOW!

Spring is in the air. I can feel it in my runny nose! But how can you not love the weather!

It was another good week to be a Fellow!

MONDAY ROUND TABLE. We had a last minute switch of location Monday night to my house.

Love having songs of praise fill up and soak into the walls
The best part was that the food had already been prepared, so all I had to do was heat it up! Thanks Myrtie! We will see you at your place in a couple weeks!

Other Monday Highlights.

Lia was awarded this!

You have always been the best in my eyes! I love you!

I got to hang out with my friend Bryan who will be speaking to our Fellows in a couple weeks!

TUESDAY Science Fair

John and Anna Rose and their Hugo Cabret device.
They had to create a device that either rang a bell, lifted a tissue or trapped a cockroach - theirs did all three. Way to go!

WEDNESDAY LEADER LUNCH

Ella and the Gang
We had a fabulous Leader Lunch with Ella Long the Head of Employment and Employment Law at RAI.

Ella is a pretty amazing woman and has a pretty amazing story.

I love that she says that her one distinguishable talent is that she "embraces her authenticity." Ella has more than one distinguishable talent - but she most certainly does have authenticity.

What an inspiration! Thank you Ella for your insight and wisdom.

Aly and Ella

On to the next thing!

One of those next things was tutoring at the 14th Street Rec Center. I'll tell you, when I showed up NO ONE was in the mood to do work. It was bad. There was only one thing that could be done...

a trip down the street for Ice Cream at Zestos!!! YUM!!!

Homework got a whole lot easier to get done after a soft serve cone with Oreo topping.

THURSDAY St. Paul's Episcopal

A packed room

I came in late from another meeting (Erika Quaile, Stephen Edwards, and Chad Brown! It's hard to pull away from three powerhouses like that!)

Nigel made me pay by calling me out and telling the story of our friendship, which to be honest was a very kind way to call someone out.

HOW I LOVE THAT GUY!

Nigel's Mission Statement

He led us in a discussion based on a book called Fierce Conversations.

In his masterful way, he was able to lead us in a candid, helpful dialogue about the Elephant in the Room.

THANKS!

FRIDAY Class with Ned and Nigel

Fellows getting things done

Professor Joe Moore was unable to be there, so I did my best to wear his shoes and talk us through his slides.

I think it went OK.

Then, Nigel came with the heat.

Artifacts
He told us to bring in artifacts from our past.

Tim carries this sheet of paper with him everywhere he goes.

Trent talked to us about his pink hat

Abby couldn't help smiling as she told us about her rock

As always Nigel you took it to another level. thanks!

I had to slip out so I could buy a house with this woman!!!

This is what it looks like to be HEAVILY in debt!

381 Dover Dr. is now for sale
that is hard to write. tears are in my eyes. deep breath...
