UPDATE Week of April 15

The Big Man on Campus. Mathu has had a great year with Boosterthon. He has also started a blog!

THE WEEK

Round Table with the Wilsons.

Patricia is the hostess with the mostest

A great night was had by all. Prayer. Worship. Laughter. and Story! We left a little early so we could watch the National Championship game. (Was that only a week ago? Holy smokes)

You will notice that I lose my hair by the end of the week. I didn't lose a bet. I just finally had a few minutes to deal with the mop in the above picture!

Leader Lunch with Drew Gerstmyer

Drew is Winston-Salem's most interesting man

It's hard to quite put into words what spending an hour and a half with Drew Gerstmyer is like. It's sort of like going to an amusement park in your mind.

Needless to say, the Fellows loved it! We talked about everything you could think of. Drew did a great job of pointing us to a God who loves to make stuff.

Drew relates. He likes to make stuff too!

About half the Fellows went to hear a speaker from the Barnabas Center present on Naming and Addressing Fear and Anxiety. I was pretty excited for my friends at the Barnabas Center. It was a totally packed house! And I ran out of ink writing notes.

Thanks y'all!

A great evening.

Friday Classes

Shout out to Wake
It's about time I give a special thanks to Wake Forest University for providing space on campus for the Fellows to have their classes.

It's about as nice a set up as you can imagine. What a gift!

Speaking of gifts.

John Stubblefield presented his work on Universal Leadership.

He is just finishing up his doctorate, and we were given the opportunity to be the first group he has ever presented his stuff to.

It is incredible!

If you have a team, business, group of leaders, really anybody - John's work on Leadership is outstanding. Send me a note and I'll put you in contact with him.

John is teaching us

Nigel then joined us for another fantastic class.

He had each of us share a story about someone who taught us about leadership.

Nigel is simply the best.

I snuck out during break and spent some time with Kathyleen one of my favorite service workers.

Kathyleen is such a delight. The Budd Group sure knows how to hire them.

After class we had lunch, then I picked up the kids from school and walked in on Anna Rose learning how to cook an over easy egg!

Easier said than done.

RECRUITMENT

Welcome JACKSON WOOD!

Jackson Wood

Jackson is graduating in May from Davidson College with a degree in History. Fun fact: John Stubblefield was his AP History teacher!

Jackson is thoughtful, smart, and a true servant. He will be a great addition to our group!

Welcome friend!

Keep up the recruiting!!!

This morning I had a fantastic meeting over at WSSU. We are shooting for two from WSSU next year!!!

Val Grant is such a cool gal. A little too old to be a Fellow - but maybe her grand daughter!!!

Winston-Salem State is such a treasure. We as a city need to capitalize more on the talent that is over there. I'm hoping the Fellows can be a catalyst!

Congratulations to Natalie for finishing the Tarheel Ten miler!
Christian really likes this picture...

Mathu took kids from Rolling Hills to Ararat, Virginia over the weekend.
We escaped our house for the weekend while the painters took over and got to see a bunch of old friends!
Not this kind of painting! But what a gift from Patti McCormick our realtor!

Anna Rose and Thomas have known each other since birth!
