UPDATE Week of May 13

HOW DID WE GET HERE???

With Big Brother Big Sisters moving offices, Abby has become a regular at Starbucks. Kelly, too, has been known to work remotely there.

ONE WEEK LEFT???

Not exactly. We still have a mission trip to Greece. But yes, sadly, this fellows year is nearing the end.

BUT NOT WITHOUT A FLOURISH!!!

Come on! What else would you expect?

On the wall at the Davis home

ROUND TABLE at Keith and Emily Davis' We ate and worshipped on the back porch on one of the prettiest evenings of the year. Keith and Emily and children (not all theirs) were excellent hosts, and a good time was had by all.

LEADER LUNCH was with Elms Allen at his beautiful home.

Elms in the Beehive chair
We interrupted prayer time on the back patio. Afterward, Bo Brookby pulled me aside to tell me how fantastic the First Pres Fellows had been.

What an encouragement! Another person in attendance (not to be named) pulled me aside and said, "Ned, when you first told me about the Fellows, my husband and I thought it had no chance of succeeding." Ha! I'm sure you weren't the only ones!

Thank you Elms and Harriet for being such great hosts. I have been telling Elms stories all week. they are worth listening to.
FRIDAY CLASS

Derek Radney taught us on Evangelism.

Nigel taught us about how storytelling can change the teller.

He used a fantastic TedX talk by Donald Davis

There is something funny about this picture.

WHAT'S COOKING???

One of the highlights this week was that Mathu's mom, Geraldine, cooked lunch for us after class.

What a spread!!!

Mathu had hyped his mom's cooking up, so we came in with some pretty high expectations...

We gave Mathu's nephew a lot of attention!

Guess who he looks up to? Smart kid.
Making room
Let's just say, Mathu's mom's cooking lives up to the hype. I have never had better jerk chicken in my life.

WOW!

GUMBOOOO!

Laura and Abby made up this game and then won it

Kelly Martin had us over Saturday night for dinner. She made gumbo and brownies. Let's just say the fellows ate well this weekend.

Thanks Kel!

That's not Christian's hand. What's with all these strange illusion pictures that have to do with Christian?

A great week...one more "normal" one to go. Is there ever a normal week?

RECRUITMENT NEWS

Welcome Jessica Baker!

Jessica Baker

Jessica is from Mechanicsville, Virginia and is graduating from Wake Forest University in a week. She is a brilliant reader and writer who actually reads and can understand William Faulkner. She also is a Young Life Capernaum Leader, which made her a shoe in to be a Fellow.

Welcome to the class!

We only have a few more spots left. If you or someone you know is interested in being a Fellow, please introduce us NOW!!!

BOARD NEWS

On Wednesday Night we voted in five new Board Members:
