UPDATE Week of September 16

Sophie-Earle and Greg tap out Heart and Soul together

A WEEK JAMMED PACKED WITH GOODNESS

I'm sitting here typing this thinking to myself - wow - all this happened in one week???

Yep. It did. The photos don't lie. All that to say, it's good to be a Winston-Salem Fellow!

ROUND TABLE. As you can imagine, we had the sweetest time with our dear friends Bill and Myrtie Davis on Monday night.

The casserole was hot and the dessert was out of the cosmos. We had the chance to listen to Bill talk about integrity in life and Myrtie talk about seeing Jesus in everybody.

I was standing on tippy toes

Mattie really wanted to sit next to Bill

Tuesday. I had the chance to meet the new Scout Master (really great guy), catch up with Host Dad Peter Barnes, and sit in at the Chamber of Commerce to listen to Chief Thompson and Sheriff Kimbrough tell their amazing stories and challenge us to step up as a community.

I left FIRED UP! So fired up I left all my stuff at the Chamber! Thanks Calvin for saving the day!

Wednesday. Began with Breakfast with Young Life - I told my friend Tripp that a place like this is dangerous because I know 100% of the people here! Ha!

LEADER LUNCH was with my good friend Sanford Danziger founder of the Totally Responsible Person among other things like working at the Center For Creative Leadership and being a "shrink" (his words not mine).

JM greets Sanford

Sanford and the Gang

Sanford is great. He has been developing a four question progression of reflection that is super powerful but also sets us up for the rest of the year. It's called Looking Forward. If you want to learn more let me know! So thankful for him. I look forward to this every year.

UNDERSTANDING POVERTY. Bill McClain is such a hero of mine. What an honor it is to have him meet with our Fellows.

He had us all sitting on the hot seat, asking us tough questions. It was a little nervous that he scared them off. Instead, his questions won them over! That's what fierce conversations do.

Does this remind you of Da Vinci's the Last Supper?

CENTER FOR CREATIVE LEADERSHIP

Every year one of the highlights are the two days we get to spend at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro North Carolina.

Mattie is giving her J a thumbs up. Turns out she comes to it naturally!

Haley goes through a reflection exercise where she writes about someone who exemplifies the highest of values.

Thank you to Young Life for letting us borrow the van!

The good times rolled
Jessica and Jacob process

We get to participate in this two day program with our friends the Greensboro Fellows (for two days we call ourselves the Triad Fellows). How I love getting to be part of a thing that is greater than me!

GO DEACS

Greg and his mom

If the Deacs winning wasn't enough - the fact that I got to meet Greg's mom was plenty to make Friday night awesome.

Several of us got to take in the game - including poor Reiley who went to UNC.

HOT YOGA. The Fellows coordinated a Hot Yoga gathering Saturday morning.

What a great night! It's easy to get behind such an awesome organization.
